CFD Director’s Message 5.11.22

“At some point in life the world’s beauty becomes enough. You don’t need to photograph, paint, or even remember it. It is enough. No record of it needs to be kept and you don’t need someone to share it with or tell it to.” Toni Morrison

I am wishing you much presence and awe as we all take in the sights, sounds, smells, and warmth of the season. I find myself both tired and congested, as someone who experiences seasonal allergies and an increased histamine response at 37.5 weeks pregnant. However, I adore this time of year too, and getting outdoors to enjoy the flowering trees alone makes it all worthwhile to me.

There isn’t a lot I have to share today otherwise in terms of a reflection, but I invite you to take a look at the schedules and information found below. Please consider emailing me to sign up for a summer date with the younger people of UUFM. Thanks!

Children’s Chapel

Youth Group

As I wrap up my work here before my maternity leave, I have been planning for summer. There will be several opportunities to volunteer if any of you are interested. The goal is to continue having (a fun, casual version of) Children’s Chapel each Sunday, except for the first Sunday of each month.

We are also planning to offer a Wednesday night family movie night in the UUFM Sanctuary the first Wednesday of each month (6/1, 7/6, and 8/3). If you have requests for which movies you think would be fun to stream from Disney+ or Netflix, I am open to suggestions!

Plans for Youth Group this summer are in the works, and the CFD / Youth Group Committee has discussed hosting a monthly time for connection as well. Keep an eye on updates this summer for more information on that.
