June 1, 2022 Minister’s Message

Dear Ones,

It’s the time of year when our Fellowship program year changes. Summer is often a time for travel or family visits, with less time for regular Sunday attendance. But we still have much happening in June.

  • I hope you can make time for our Flower Communion and New Member Welcome on June 5. Please bring a flower with you to worship, and we will have some handy if you forget. Welcome our newest members as we re-commit to community. Rev. Rita will be available at the Fellowship on Saturday, June 4 to receive flowers and give blessings if you can’t attend on Sunday.
  • Folks are planning a Grounds sprucing up for Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM, to get ready for mowing and for the arrival of the Preska family for our celebration of Margaret’s life (We are pleased to host them at noon on June 12, following the regular worship service.). Contact Dennis Cramblit at cramblit@chartermi.net to get involved in the clean-up efforts.
  • We continue our commitment to being an LGBTQA+ Welcoming Congregation with our June 12 worship service, featuring Zr. Alex Kapitan of the Transforming Hearts Collective.
  • In other parts of the Weekly, you will find new initiatives to which members of the congregation have made commitments, concerning compassionate community [Click here for more details] and preventing and protesting gun violence [Click here to learn more]. These might appeal to you as well.

In hard times, in these times, belonging to a community is the best way to face the pain and challenges of daily life. UUFM is here for you, as you remember, today and every day, that you are loved, you are worthy, you are welcome, and you are needed. May you feel it so, and may it be so.

Blessings, Rev. Rita
