Indigenous Peoples Day 2025 “Claiming Our Courage Together: Learning Without Fear”

Guest Speaker this Sunday:  Megan Bull Bear (founder of Mahkato Revitalization and Lakota Made LLC)

The City of Mankato is built upon Mni Sota Makoce, the homeland of the Indigenous Dakota Nation.  On June 11, 2018, the City Council of Mankato passed a resolution recognizing the second Monday of October as Indigenous Peoples Day in the City of Mankato.  A committee of volunteers continues the work of educating and celebrating with our community that Indigenous cultures, traditions and languages, from their Indignous spiritual center, continue to make contributions to society. Together we claim our courage and engage with the work of learning, reconciliation, and reparations, building relationships in the here and now, seeking to be good relatives.
