Queer & trans activist Dean Spade defines ‘mutual aid’ as, “collective coordination to meet each other’s needs, usually from an awareness that the systems we have in place are not going to meet them.” What possibilities emerge when we give and receive care beyond the scope of our imperial systems? In this service, we’ll explore how queer & trans care traditions, histories, and dynamics offer models for moving beyond charity and “us/them” dynamics and toward relationality, solidarity, collectivity, and mutual world-making.
Children’s Programs ( Nursery and Children’s Chapel) are up and running.
