The education sub-committee of South Central Pride is hosting a public viewing of the documentary film “Pray Away.”
Rev. Rita and the Welcoming Congregations Team of EdJ invites you to attend with us on Thursday, September 23, starting at 6:00 PM at the Centenary United Methodist Church in Mankato. We will let you know if a Zoom option becomes available.

This documentary deals with the harmful practice of so-called “conversion therapy” and its impact on the LGBTQIA+ community. The film also examines the culpability of Christian churches and the significant role certain denominations and churches played in supporting this harmful practice. We plan to attend to further our affirmation of and welcome to the LGBTQIA+ community, here in Mankato and everywhere in this country and in the world. Our Principles call us to the inherent worth and dignity of every identity and the ways we are beautifully and inextricably bound to each other in the web of all existence. The UUA has actively rejected conversion therapy, and we want to the community to know that we at UUFM reject this attempt to coerce change when no change is required.

Please join us to affirm LGBTQIA+ people and to show our values in the community. Contact Cheiron McMahill (om7411gk@gmail.com or DM me on Messenger) or fill out this Breeze form  if you would like to attend as part of a UUFM group.
