Message to the Fellowship:
The Board’s decision to delay the reopening of our building was made with the best interests of UUFM in mind. Not that it was a welcome decision or an easy decision, but it was the sensible & responsible thing to do in the face of increased infection & positivity rates across the region. We are all frustrated by our long isolation, but rest assured, we will reopen when the trends indicate it is safe to do so. In the meantime, we ask everyone to remain patient & wait for the tide to turn, as it surely will. Be sure to watch the web site Response to COVID-19 Updates – Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Mankato (uumankato.com) for any new developments or information.
On the good news side, thanks to technology upgrades in our building Reverend Rita will once again be in the pulpit on Sundays. So, even though we will be viewing services on Zoom, our spirits are sure to be lifted as we once again view familiar surroundings. It’s a small step, not quite what we were looking for, but an improvement, nonetheless.
As the Board works through next steps leading to reopening the building, we invite you to offer suggestions & ideas for easing the burden we all share until we are together again. For example, perhaps additional small group gatherings outdoors could be arranged. Maybe you have an idea for a social or spiritual event that would provide some much-needed fellowship. Whatever your inclination, please feel free to contact us with questions, comments, or suggestions at covidresponse@uumankato.org and we’ll do our best to respond.
