I wrote this winter solstice reflection this morning. I hope you enjoy: In the darkest hour, may the inner light of insight be your compass. Rest, reflect, find ease, know peace. The pace of the soul moves far more slowly than we are taught; allow that cyclical slowness reveal what is under the surface. Learn to listen to and honor yourself, your sovereignty, your voice again, and to express it. This is a step toward alignment and self-trust, small movements that gradually make up the grand journey.
There will be grief in deaths, significant or seemingly small – let the grief come and invite it in for tea. Remember to take note not just in mind but in body of how it moves you, and how its shedding mineralizes our soils for what is sprouting to emerge. Life takes shape underground, in wombs and cocoons, where warm, damp darkness holds us until courage expands, allowing the lust for comfort to wane.
May each season in which we find ourselves in the depths of mystery be recognized as an opportunity to re-imagine. What is gestating in you is alive in the collective. Dare to dream and lean into becoming a softer and more supportive elder and ancestor. Facing mortality expands perspective, bringing what’s truly of value to the forefront of our hearts and minds. In that way, I pray that life as a full circle guides you, guides us, home to our humble, animal selves.
