Reflections on Yom Kippur: The Possibility in/of Forgiveness

Our worship service today falls between Yom Kippur—the holiest day in the practice of Judaism, characterized by rituals of atonement and repentance—and International Day of Peace—a United Nations-sanctioned day of observance for world peace, especially an end to violence and war.

How might practices of peace within ourselves, as well as between and among us, demonstrate more fully our commitment to a peaceful world for all?

Local activist Sabrina Mercedes joins us this morning. Sabrina will facilitate our Land Acknowledgement Workshop next weekend. She is here to introduce herself, and she will be in a breakout room to explain more about herself and that process.

Our space is virtual, but our worship is real, vital, and life-sustaining.
