In this service, we will explore how the spirit of “fabulousness”—the vibrant, creative, and defiant energy at the heart of queer & trans culture—is much more than just entertainment. In fact, it is a guiding and glittering light in our quest for collective liberation. Calling upon the wisdom of queer & trans ancestors and artifacts from queer & trans cultural history, we’ll explore how “fabulousness” offers us necessary tools for disrupting the harmful patterns and systems imbedded in our bodies, our minds, our communities, and our lives.
Seth Anderson-Matz (he/him) is a queer & trans community minister and public theologian based in the Twin Cities. He holds a Master of Arts in Religion & Theology from United Theological Seminary, and completed an 18-month interim ministry role with First Presbyterian Church of Mankato in June 2024. He previously served as Religious Education Program Coordinator at First Universalist Church of Minneapolis, and currently serves as the Church Administrator of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Northfield as well as First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Minneapolis. Seth has also been engaged in queer & trans space-making and liberation work for over 20 years, including advisory roles with national LGBTQ+ organizations like GLSEN, the Trevor Project, and the National Equality March.
