This summer seems to have sped by for me, and now we are just a few weeks out from a couple of big events that happen each fall.

The first is SCMN PrideFest. On Saturday, September 7th, I will be among the clergy leading an interfaith Pride Service at First Presbyterian. Then I will join those of you who are walking with our banner in the parade, and will spend the afternoon at our booth in the park. There are lots of opportunities for you to participate!

The next day, Sunday September 8th, is our annual in gathering service with the merging of the waters ritual. That service will also include a “blessing of the backpacks” for our children and youth, and students and educators of any age. More details will be available on the list of Upcoming Services on our website.

As we move into the new congregational year, I look forward to seeing what our second year of shared ministry holds. I have lots of plans and some daydreams, and I would love to hear yours, too!
