Reverend Rita’s Installation

Installation News

On April 14, 2019 at 4:00, this Fellowship will install Rev. Rita Capezzi. This installation marks the first time our Fellowship has called a full-time minister. We look forward on this occasion to affirm a covenant of shared ministry; to uphold our partnerships with those in the Greater Mankato area seeking with us to create Beloved Community; and to celebrate this next vital stage of our Fellowship as a community of faith. Installation is an opportunity to celebrate and to uphold our collective desire to be a force for good in the world and between all people.

The installation will bring to our sanctuary a number of Unitarian Universalist ministers from The Cities and beyond, area ministers, and local dignitaries, as well as some of Rev. Rita’s family and friends. Because of complicated logistics, and because we want the full Fellowship to participate in this extraordinary event, please be aware of some changes to our regular Sunday routine:

  • Worship as usual at 10:30, with Rev. Rita’s preaching, children in half the service, and the nursery open.
  • Limited hospitality at 11:30 for CFD parents, to gather as families and to touch base about the children’s roles during the Installation service. NO REGULAR COFFEE HOUR THIS SUNDAY.
  • Ministers and guests begin arriving at 3:00 for hospitality, robing, and processional instructions.
  • Service of Installation begins at 4:00 and will include the children.
  • Big celebration for everyone following at about 5:30 in the Fellowship Hall. This will be our time to gather in community on this Sunday.

Penny Herickhoff is Chair of the Installation Committee, so please direct any questions or concerns to her, phcanoe@yahoo.com.

We look forward to all being together on this beautiful day.
