Our family joined the UUFM when we moved to Mankato in 2007. Prior to that, we were members of the UU congregation in Rochester, MN. Our three children grew up in UU congregations and I believe they are more thoughtful, caring, and compassionate people because of this. My own reasons for attending services, participating in programs and activities, and serving in different ways stem from a desire for community, an interest in being called to do better in the world, and the regular reminders that I am not alone in pain or in joy.
