Every year of ministry so far, this time between Easter and summer feels a bit like we are rolling downhill—like momentum is carrying us and also that time is passing quickly! There are just under two months left between now and our June 16 Flower Service, which marks the end of the “regular” church year and a shift into summer mode.
Between now and then, lots of good things are happening—the first performances of our revitalized choir under the leadership of Choir Director Mark Brekke; two social justice events after worship this Sunday with MUUSJA and the Pride Team; our May congregational meeting on May 5; and much more! Make sure to read the whole weekly email each week to stay informed about all the events and opportunities coming up.
There are also, as always seems to be the case, things I had hoped to do but that didn’t fit into the schedule. One of those is a worship training for folks interested in various worship leadership roles. That will happen in early fall instead of spring, but if you are interested in worship leadership and don’t want to wait to begin, please reach out to me and we will talk about ways that might happen!
As we near the end of the church year, we also approach the annual General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association. This year it is fully online. We are entitled to two delegates and those spots are not filled yet, so if you are interested in representing UUFM at the national level of our denomination, let’s talk!
In the meantime, I’m savoring the delights of spring: just today that has included birdsong, sunshine, noticing buds on a new tree planted last fall, and two gentle rain showers. I hope you are enjoying the season too.
In gratitude,
Rev. Diana
