Here are some simple yet wise words to honor the end of February, and the theme of Justice and Equity:
“I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept.” – Angela Davis
The photo I shared this week was taken on Monday morning, when I impulsively spent a little extra time hiking around Seven Mile Creek Park with my child. Moss symbolizes renewal, resilience, and humility, qualities I strive for. On the days I am feeling collective and personal pain, there isn’t much that is more soothing to me than getting a little time in the woods on a nice day. While this is not the most impactful act, it recharges me, so I have a greater capacity to work for growth and change. I hope you, too, find peace, healing, and meaning in nature in the near future, especially with the warmer weather to come.
