CFD Director’s Message 3.1.23

“We often think that vulnerability is a kind of weakness, but there’s a kind of vulnerability that is actually strength and presence.” — Ram Dass

This monthly theme may seem like a tougher one to dig into than love, but I am truly looking forward to exploring what vulnerability means to our youngest friends at UUFM. I believe the two themes really pair well as we move from one to the next as well.

Without vulnerability, it is difficult to build connections with deep trust… And how can we truly love and be loved without trustworthy connections? I have always believed that they are essential to one another, and it all starts with the willingness to be courageously vulnerable.

In what ways might you shed some emotional armor and practice vulnerability this month?

The world we travel through may not always feel warm and welcoming, but I hope our UUFM community always feels like a safe enough place to open our hearts.

What is happening this week…

This Sunday, Melinda Kjarum and Macey Forsyth will host our children and youth for an activity in the CFD room after the tale for all ages. Throughout worship, Keri Johnson and Julia Hamann plan to provide care for our youngest friends in the nursery.

…and throughout March, we will continue to offer activities in both the CFD room and nursery on Sundays.

On Wednesday, March 15th, at 6:30pm, we are hopeful that we will host another pizza and game night with the youth. (Please note that intergenerational potluck and games are also happening next week on Wednesday, March 8th at 6pm. Two weeks in a row of potential fun!):
