CFD Director’s Message 4.19.23

“Treating each other and ourselves with care isn’t a luxury, but an absolute necessity if we’re going to thrive. Resting isn’t an afterthought, but a basic part of being human.”
― Tricia Hersey, Rest Is Resistance: A Manifesto

I am grateful to be returning from a healthy mix of fun adventure, restorative leisure, and some caretaking at home this past week. I am going to keep this update short and sweet and just say thank you for being a part of what, in my experience, is a balanced and fulfilling role for me, as the Director of Children’s Faith Development. As we face the fresh energy of spring and many changes, I hope you experience truly resting as a regular way of caring for your whole self and remind others of how they deserve that, too.

This Sunday, Keri and Macey will be present to both care for children in the nursery and guide our time in children’s chapel. Children and youth are invited to paint a pot to later bring a plant home in, write a letter to Earth, or create a sculpture out of recycled and natural objects.
We could still, ideally, use a couple more volunteers. Please contact Macey if you are interested.

Youth Group postponed until next week

Lee and I will plan to be at UUFM next Wednesday, April 26th from 6:30-8pm for pizza, check-in, reflection, and games. We would love to connect with you then!
