CFD Director’s Message 5.10.23

Today, in honor of this month of Creativity, I share these words from Brené Brown to reflect on:
“Art has the power to render sorrow beautiful, make loneliness a shared experience, and transform despair into hope… It is the ability to both capture our pain and deliver us from it at the same time… The transformative power of art is in the sharing. Without connection or collective engagement, what we hear is simply a caged song full of sorrow and despair. We find no liberation in it. It is the sharing of art that whispers: “You’re not alone.”

Sunday volunteers for Children’s Faith Development are to be determined, but I do look forward to holding space for our youth and family members of youth next Friday:

Youth Group Fire

I invite you to a casual night of fun around a fire at the Ganske’s residence (933 Charles Ave), in the backyard next to the church parsonage, on Friday, May 19th, from 6:30-8pm. I will bring snacks and beverages and encourage you to bring seating if you can make it. There is a place in the RSVP form to request specifics around dietary needs/preferences for snacks, or any other concerns you may have: https://uufm.breezechms.com/form/7b9e96
I will note also – if you are seeing this message and have an emerging youth (a kiddo who is going into 7th grade in the fall), I am comfortable extending this invitation to you as well!
