As we conclude our theme of Welcome, may these words from Valarie Kaur remind us of what welcome might mean for some: “I was beginning to learn that home is the space within us and between us where we feel safe—and brave. It is not a physical space as much as it is a field of being.”
May our time together bring a similar sense of both comfort and vulnerability. May we continue to welcome one another.

UU Family Meet-up at Music in the Park this Thursday, September 28th, at 5:30pm.
This is a free event at Wheeler Park in lower North Mankato (near Monroe and Bridges schools). Rain Kings is scheduled to be performing at this event, and food will be available for purchase from Lolo’s Food Truck. You are also welcome to bring your own food and beverage. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in meeting with other families. I thought this could be a good community event to plan for some casual reconnection at.

Intergenerational Art Journaling
Deb and Macey will host an art journaling group at the UUFM Fellowship Hall on Wednesday, October 25th, from 6:30-8pm. If you’re confused and not sure what art journaling is exactly, you may consider peeking at this link that comes up on a quick Google search: How To Start An Art Journal: A Complete Beginner’s Guide – Artful Haven
The short answer is that an art journal is a visual diary for you to express yourself in whatever way suits you. It can be deeply emotional or light and fun, as you play and experiment with materials.
Some supplies will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own. I would also be grateful for donations of extra materials!
