CFD Director’s Message 9.7.22

Happy September (the month of Belonging)! I am now easing back into my responsibilities at UUFM, while parenting my new little one, Aedan. I feel grateful to be back and to be in a position that feels like a good balance with the new role of being a first-time mother. I am looking forward to welcoming your children back to our caring community, where we will explore big questions in fun and creative ways.
Today, I am reaching out to alert you of what you can look forward to here, primarily in the coming month:
  • Sunday, September 11th – Ingathering picnic and bounce house
  • Sunday, September 18th – All-generation service, Honoring the Peace Pole and Blessing of the Backpacks
  • Sunday, September 25th – Children’s Chapel resumes
We are planning to implement more of a variety of Wednesday night activities, including movie nights beginning in October and Girl Scouts (2nd-3rd grade) led by Angie (her email is angiesukalski@gmail.com if you are interested). Other opportunities for parent groups, youth group, art projects, and games are underway.
Our Whole Lives for 7-9 graders will be held sometime in the coming months.
We are also hoping to get our nursery staffed again as soon as possible, to support families with children who are under 5 years old. Until then, the Wiggle Room is, of course, always an option for when any of you need a little space to go with your children during service.
After what I heard was a quiet summer here, I hope to serve and reconnect with many of you again soon. Please let me know if you have any questions or wish to connect, collaborate, or volunteer.
