Minister’s Message
Dear Friends,
We are in the time of blessed darkness, the longest night of the year nearly upon us. Seeds grow in the dark of sunless soil. Babies grow in the dark waters of the womb. May this be a time as we wait—for new leaders, for economic relief, for our chance to receive the vaccine—to nurture patience and nourish ourselves on the blessings of the Here and Now. Participate in our special worship services next week. Read a book with UUFM friends. Find ways to connect over lunch and happy hour. Work for the earth and for our democracy. Give out of the goodness of your heart. There is much, right here, right now, to which to say “Yes!”
I offer you this message from our UUA President, the Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray, reminding us to be present in this strange and still fruitful holiday season.
May you be comforted by our vital and life-giving religious community, as you remember, today and every day, that you are loved, you are worthy, you are welcome, and you are needed. May you feel it so, and may it be so.
Blessings, Rev. Rita (she/hers)
