Dear Friends,

It’s our last day with the Soul Matters theme of “Change.” And the concept of change will linger on, both a description of our lives—especially after a death or a diagnosis or birth or a marriage or engagement—an inevitable condition of it. “Seasons change and so did I.” Change will come, as that is the way our reality works.

Writer William Bridges suggests that “Much as we may wish to make a new beginning, some part of us resists doing so as though we were making the first step toward disaster… We resist transition not because we can’t accept the change, but because we can’t accept letting go of that piece of ourselves that we have to give up when and because the situation has changed.” May you remember that UUFM is a religious community meant to hold us as we seek change and as change happens to each of us, as you remember also that you are loved, you are worthy, you are welcome, and you are needed. May you feel it so, and may it be so.

Blessings and warm wishes, Rev. Rita
