I’m back in Mankato after a fruitful leave for reflection and renewed friendships in Western New York. Back at my backyard view, watching the leaves fall. Watching the Downy woodpeckers and the squirrels continue to fatten themselves for the lean times that are coming. Watching that one leaf that does not seem to want to let go regardless of the strong winds and the many twirling companions whirling to the ground. Holding on and letting go, that is what autumn is all about. Holding on to the nourishing and letting go of all that no longer nourishes. May we make such choices in our lives—holding on to what nourishes us, letting go of whatever no longer does—the thoughts, the information, the emotions, the memories. May we seek companions to guide and assist us in our choices. And may you remember all this, as you remember also that you are loved, you are worthy, you are welcome, and you are needed. May you feel it so, and may it be so.

Blessings and warm wishes, Rev. Rita
