At the Risk of Being Myself

As 2020 finally draws to a close, join Matthew Pargeter-Villarreal for a reflection on what it means for those of us in the LGBTQIA+ community to make the decision to come out and be ourselves–often in the midst of insurmountable odds–and how we can love, support, and celebrate all of those in the LGBTQIA+ both today and as we look toward the future.”

Matthew Pargeter-Villarreal (he/him/his) is a recent M.Div graduate of Brite Divinity School (with a concentration in Sexual and Gender Justice) and a Candidate for Ministry with the UUA currently based in Comfort, Texas. Since 2015, he serves as part of the Worship Resources Team for the North Texas UU Congregations offering preaching and worship planning to NTUUC’s 14 UU member congregations. He also has experience leading ministry within UU congregations directed toward both Young Adult and LGBTQIA+ populations.
