Creating Ourselves

This service at the beginning of the school year is dedicated to the teachers and others who work with children.  They are especially important if a child’s homelife is less than desired.  Research shows that children who do well in spite of disadvantaged childhoods or dysfunctional parents were able to connect with at least one other adult who provided positive regard and good role modeling.  Barbara’s sermon, “My Mother, Not Myself,” outlines the insights and resources helpful to her while dealing with a mother living with mental illness.
