“Restoring What We Have Lost”

Our landscape has changed so much over the past 200 years.    The prairies that our ancestors experienced in this place we call home in the 1830’s are now mostly gone.   Bison were nearly killed off to extinction.  Many species that once were part of the land are gone, including elk, meadowlarks, bobolinks, the prairie chicken.
Trust in what the scientists are telling us about our climate has crumbled, and the consequences may impact our next 200 years in ways we are just now beginning to understand.  How do we respond to this?  What steps can we take to change the impact human activities have had on our environment?
