My family and I joined the UUFM in 2016. We explored the UUFM website after deciding that we were looking for a new faith community and knowing several like-minded people who attend the UUFM. I was attracted to the Seven Principles and active commitment to social justice, so I decided to attend worship on a Sunday. I found a welcoming group of people and we became members shortly thereafter.

I quickly became involved in worship in a variety of ways and participated in social justice events. I was chair of the personnel committee. My family has been involved in the UUFM as well in volunteer and staff positions. I became board president in July 2023 because I value the UUFM and felt that being in transition between ministers was an important time to provide support to the Fellowship. I was excited to be part of the board that welcomed our new Minister, Rev. Diana McLean.

I am excited about growing the UUFM as we continue to build a community of people committed to spiritual growth, justice, and compassion. I encourage all who wonder if the UUFM might be right for them to join us for worship a few times as our services are unique from week to week. I also encourage people to join us at a social justice event or for fellowship after the service to see our principles in action.
