Fall Silent Auction 2021

 

Date Change Update:

The timing of the second part of our Silent Auction “SECOND FLING”, to help us bring back events, meals and those things we had to forgo because of COVID,  may have been a little too optimistic, given the recent upsurge in the Delta Variation.  Therefore, we have postponed the auction for a short while.

The second part of our Silent Auction, which focuses on events, meals, all of which can be held next year when things are perhaps more Covid safe, has been postponed until November 11th.

People have submitted donations, and we will continue to gratefully receive your donations.  Get creative in coming up with events in public areas, or practicing safe distancing.

ABSOLUTE DEADLINE FOR DONATIONS IS Friday, NOVEMBER 5th, so we have time to get everything up on catalog. The catalog and bidding will go live on Thursday, November 11th  at 5:00 p.m.  You will be able to bid until Sunday, November 14, 2021 at  2:00 p.m.  Winning bids will be announced on Monday, November 15th.

Yes, UUFM will have a Silent Auction again!  Our emphasis this time will be meals, events, game nights and other celebrations we had to forgo during the COVID.

A virtual auction for all those wonderful lunches, dinners, breakfasts, card games, bike trips and other events we weren’t able to offer during the Spring Fling.

The auction will use an online bidding process, as we did during the Spring Fling.

  • Right now we would like you to put your thinking caps on to plan  for unique, pandemic compatible donations.  Maybe you are comfortable hosting an outdoor event, like a ball game with refreshments.   Maybe you are willing to do a meal for those who are vaccinated.   Maybe you are willing to teach a class, using masks.  If at all possible we would like a photo for the catalog
  • It might be a special dinner, a picnic, a musical event, tickets to the theater.  Maybe you want to celebrate a holiday: St. Patrick’s Day, Oktoberfest, Ground Hog’s day.  Maybe you want to set up a morning brunch, watching the sun rise over a lake or river.   Our emphasis is on those things we had to forgo during the COVID restrictions. 
  • We have had some great card/game nights, wiener roasts, biking adventures.  Perhaps you want to give kayak lessons, teach tai chi, lead a mindfulness class.  Some have offered babysitting, house cleaning, or shared a skill like quilting or knitting.

We will be developing a catalog of these wonderful donations and you will have the opportunity to bid and pay for items from the comfort of your home.   A donation form is available for download below:
